Description
The Research Office for Climate Crisis and Sustainable Development is dedicated to the study, scientific assessment, and dissemination of knowledge on issues relating to climate change, sustainable development, and their impact on Cyprus and the wider region, with particular emphasis on the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East.
The Office seeks to contribute to a deeper scientific understanding of these challenges, to coordinate and synthesise existing knowledge, and to develop evidence-based policy recommendations. Its activities are inherently interdisciplinary and are carried out at the local, regional, and international levels through collaboration with universities and research institutions, European and international academies, and relevant public and institutional bodies.
The activities of the Office include the preparation of scientific studies and policy papers, participation in research projects and international academic networks, the organisation of scientific meetings, workshops, and conferences, as well as the promotion of public and institutional dialogue on addressing the climate crisis and advancing sustainable development.
