
Georgios M. Constantinides holds degrees from the Universities of Oxford and Indiana and currently serves as the Leo Melamed Professor of Finance at the Booth School of Business of the University of Chicago. His research interests focus on the valuation of primary assets and derivatives, with particular emphasis on incomplete markets, non-standard preferences, financial intermediation, transaction costs, and learning. He has made significant contributions to addressing the causes of the historically observed equity premium, namely the higher returns of stocks compared to bonds. His research has been published in leading economics and finance journals.
Dr. Konstantinos is a member and former President of the American Finance Association. He is a founding member and former President of the Society for Financial Studies. He has served as editor or associate editor of several finance journals. He is currently a Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). He has also served as a Director/Trustee of the DFA mutual fund group.
