Stathis Livathinos is an actor and theatre director. He was born in Athens and is a graduate of the Pelos Katselis Drama School and the Department of English Language and Literature of the University of Athens. He studied theatre directing at the State Institute of Theatre Arts in Moscow. He was awarded the Moscow Critics’ Prize for his diploma production Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead.
He has directed a large number of theatrical productions, many of which have received awards and critical acclaim. He has himself been honoured by the Union of Theatre Critics and received the Fotos Politis Award. He has significant teaching experience in Greece and abroad and has served as Head of the Experimental Stage of the National Theatre of Greece and of the Acting and Directing Workshop.
Stathis Livathinos is considered one of the most important figures in the field of Theatre Arts within the Greek-speaking cultural world.
