Theodoulos Gregoriou was born in Malounta, Cyprus, in 1956. He lives and works in Nicosia and Paris.
From 1976 to 1981, he studied Fine Arts at the Nicolae Grigorescu Institute of Fine Arts in Bucharest, Romania, as a UNESCO scholarship recipient. In 1986–1987, he was awarded a scholarship by the French Government (Prix Matisse) and joined the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, while also enrolling at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris.
In 2020, he was elected Corresponding Member of the Cyprus Academy of Sciences, Letters,and Arts.
His participation in the Venice Biennale (Aperto ’90) in 1990 marked the beginning of his presence on the international art scene. He has been commissioned to create monumental works for public spaces in Cyprus, France and Greece. Since 1983, he has presented numerous solo exhibitions and participated in major international group exhibitions, including:
