Description
The Cultural Diplomacy Research Office of the Cyprus Academy of Sciences, Letters, and Arts constitutes the Academy’s scientific and research centre for matters relating to cultural diplomacy and international cultural relations.
Its mission is to promote research, documentation and scholarly study in the field of cultural diplomacy, as well as to develop initiatives that strengthen the international cultural presence of the Republic of Cyprus and the Academy.
Within the framework of its mission, the Office develops collaborations with academies, universities, research centres, cultural organisations and international institutions. It also cooperates with the Presidency of the Republic of Cyprus, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Deputy Ministry of Culture, and corresponding institutions of other countries, with the aim of promoting cultural diplomacy and intercultural dialogue.
Its activities include the preparation of scientific studies, the development of international collaborations, the organisation of conferences, symposia, lectures, exhibitions, artistic and cultural initiatives, the publication of scholarly works, as well as participation in European and international networks and research programmes.
Through its work, the Office contributes to highlighting Cyprus’s cultural heritage and contemporary intellectual and artistic creativity, promoting international cultural dialogue and enhancing the outward orientation and global presence of the Republic of Cyprus.
